Rajesh Kumar Reveals How NEET Paper Leak and Nephew’s Death Shattered His Family
Rajesh Kumar recalls how the NEET paper leak devastated his family, forcing his niece to take the re-examination just 13 days after her father's death. He also reveals the pressure he faced for speaking against the system.
Rajesh Kumar shared the incident during a podcast with Nidhi Vasandani. He recalled that his cousin's daughter had cleared the NEET examination with good marks. To celebrate her achievement, his cousin had taken her on a pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi. However, tragedy struck during the journey when his cousin passed away.
Meanwhile, the NEET paper leak controversy came to light. The examination was cancelled, and authorities decided to conduct it again. The family was already mourning the death of Rajesh's cousin when his daughter was asked to appear for the re-examination.
The situation became even more difficult as the girl had to take the NEET re-examination just 13 days after losing her father. Rajesh Kumar recalled that he personally travelled to Delhi by flight to accompany his niece to the examination centre.
"My brother passed away, and the NEET re-examination was scheduled for the 13th day after his death. I flew to Delhi and took my niece to appear for the examination. It was an extremely difficult time for her. She did not have another year to prepare. On top of that, she no longer had her father's support," Rajesh said.
Questioning accountability over the circumstances faced by students and their families, Rajesh asked who should take responsibility when such incidents disrupt lives. He questioned why those responsible for mistakes that force students and their families to endure such hardships are not held accountable.
Rajesh also revealed that he had been advised against speaking out against the system. Recalling a conversation with a producer, he said he had expressed his desire to raise his voice against the irregularities in the NEET examination. However, the producer warned him about the possible consequences.
According to Rajesh, the producer told him that people who speak against the system receive letters from major government departments directing that they should not be given work.
Rajesh explained that such warnings create considerable pressure on actors, often discouraging them from expressing their views openly. He also mentioned that CJP has given people the freedom to raise their voices. He said such platforms also become a voice for those who are unable to speak out publicly themselves.
His account highlights the personal consequences of the NEET paper leak controversy, particularly for students who had to face an uncertain examination process while dealing with deeply distressing family circumstances.
